More Bible Sources in Every Answer: A Before and After
TL;DR: FaithGPT now pulls from more of the study library on every answer, cites more Scripture, and names more of its non-biblical sources individually. Weighing those sources against Scripture is not new, but there is more material being weighed. Commentary and cross references also sit in a panel beside the conversation now instead of interrupting it.
FaithGPT's chat can now search a licensed study library alongside Scripture. Five collections, 105,785 entries: the Tyndale Open Study Notes with their book introductions, theme articles and character profiles, the Tyndale Open Bible Dictionary, a cross reference set, a footnotes and words-of-Jesus annotation set, and an editorial structure layer. Every one of them is Creative Commons or public domain, which is why the answers can name them out loud.
That is the change. What follows is what it looks like in practice.
Ask FaithGPT to research the family lives of the apostles and you will get a careful answer either way. But the answer you get this week is sourced differently from the one you would have gotten a few months ago. Here are both, shared publicly so you can read them yourself:

The current answer is 99 words shorter and carries a third more Scripture. That ratio is the whole point. Extra sources are only worth having if they replace sentences that were floating on their own.
The earlier answer worked with Eusebius, his Ecclesiastical History, and Clement of Alexandria. The current one adds Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch, Irenaeus and Tertullian, and it names the apocryphal Acts of Thomas, Acts of Peter and Acts of Andrew by title, so you know exactly which story comes from where.
The ranking is not the new part
I nearly wrote that the weighing of sources was the change here. It is not, and the earlier conversation proves it. That one opens by telling you how to read what follows:
The safest way to study the disciples' family lives is to rank the evidence: 1) Scripture first, as the inerrant Word of God, 2) early church writers like Clement of Alexandria and Eusebius, and 3) later legends, which may preserve memories but should not be treated as fact.
The current answer states the same three tiers as a labelled list near the end, and splits Scripture from tradition into separate columns of its summary table where the earlier one used a single certainty column. Same instinct, tighter presentation.
What actually changed is how much gets ranked. Sorting four sources into three buckets is easy. Sorting ten, naming each one, and still telling you which of them you can lean on is the harder job, and it is the one that matters when someone asks how an apostle died.
That distinction is worth keeping honest about, because the failure mode in Bible answers online is never a missing disclaimer. It is a fourth-century tradition repeated as fact until it circulates for a decade. Being told "this is Eusebius, writing 250 years later, and here is how much that is worth" beats a confident sentence with nothing behind it. FaithGPT was already doing that. It is now doing it across more material.
Commentary and cross references now sit beside the conversation
The second change you will notice immediately: when an answer draws on commentary or cross references, those no longer land as cards stuffed between paragraphs. They open in a panel docked next to the conversation, and the reading column reflows to make room instead of getting covered by a popup.
Sources open first, since that is usually what you tapped for. Lookups sit in the second tab. On a phone the same panel comes up as a sheet you can swipe away.
The open panel is part of the URL now, so if you send someone a link with a source open, it opens for them too.
Everything else that shipped
A run of other work landed alongside this.
Sermon capture reads Scripture in the margin. Live Notes now puts a real Bible reader down the left side of a recording session, with passage pills for each chapter the preacher touches and a "follow along" toggle that moves the reader as they speak. References get checked against the actual verse text when you save, so a misheard "Acts 14:18" gets corrected or dropped rather than stored wrong.
Devotional narration records when you press play. Your daily devotional used to be narrated overnight whether or not you ever listened. Now the recording is made the first time you tap listen, which is both faster to prepare and honest about what you are paying for.
Audio Studio leads with music now. Songs with real lyrics, instrumental beds, voiceover, and a lyric writer that was taught actual songwriting structure instead of generic verse-chorus filler.
Image Studio renders portraits at full height. A 9:16 image comes out genuinely tall rather than quietly squeezed toward square, and there are new ultra-wide and ultra-tall banner ratios if you make church slides or social headers.
On the phone apps the work was mostly about staying out of your way. Recordings survive the app going to the background. Prayer notifications open you signed in. The home screen widgets stopped asking you to authenticate again.
Try the comparison yourself
The fastest way to see the difference is to ask something where tradition and Scripture have gotten tangled together over the centuries. How each apostle died is the classic one. So is whether Paul was ever married. The honest answer to both is partly "the Bible says this much, and the rest comes from somewhere later," and watching FaithGPT draw that line is more instructive than any feature list.
